اكتشف فريق من العلماء في الولايات المتحدة السبب الكامن وراء جذب دم الإنسان للبعوض، ما يمهد الطريق لعقار يمكن أن ينهي هذه المشكلة إلى الأبد.
وأظهرت الدراسة الجديدة أن مذاق دم الإنسان يشبه إلى حد ما طعم الكراميل المملح للبعوض الجائع.
ووصف الباحثون دماءنا بأنها “مالحة قليلا وحلوة قليلا”، وتمكنوا من تحديد الخلايا العصبية الفردية في البعوض التي تشعر بنكهتنا “المميزة واللذيذة”.

وخدع الباحثون البعوض في وضع تغذية الدم من خلال تقديم مزيج من أربعة مركبات، تتضمن الجلوكوز (السكر) وكلوريد الصوديوم (الملح) وبيكربونات الصوديوم (الموجود في كل من الدم وصودا الخبز) والأدينوزين ثلاثي الفوسفات (ATP)، وهو مركب يوفر الطاقة للخلايا.
