أجاب بعض الشعراء :
بأن السبب هو الألم من حرقة النار ،
وأجاب آخرون إن السبب هو فرقة الشمع للعسل ولكن أحداً لم يحصل على الجائزة.!

نعم إنَّ سبب بكاء الشمع وجود شيء في الشمع ليس من جنسه وهو الفتـيلة التي ستحترق وتحرقه معها وهكذا يجب علينا : انتقـاء من نجالسه ويناسبنا من البشر حتى لا نحترق بسببهم ونبكي يوم لا ينـفع البكاء..
